Celebrate the Skagit Watershed through Poetry!

We are pleased to invite you to join us on Sunday, February 8th at the Skagit River Bald Eagle Interpretive Center in Rockport, WA, for an afternoon reading of poetry from 1 pm to 3 pm.

We will feature six local poets:

  • Jane Bullis (Anacortes),

  •  Michelle Dexter (Marblemount),

  • Chuck Luckmann (Bellingham),

  • Paul Piper (Bellingham),

  • Saul Weisberg (Bellingham), &

  • Andrea Weiser (Marblemount).

We will plan on having our reading outdoors on a progressive theme walk, stopping at various points along the beautiful Skagit River (weather permitting) to read a group of poems, then moving on, so please bring appropriate clothing and footwear. If weather prevents us from communicating effectively with our audience, the reading will take place in the Interpretive Center.

To find the Interpretive Center:

  1. Travel on SR-20 east to the town of Rockport,

  2. Turn right on SR-530 and turn right again immediately before crossing the bridge.

  3. Continue into the Howard Miller Steelhead Park to the Interpretive Center which is on the right side of the road, just past the boat launch.

All events are free, although donations are gratefully accepted to help defray costs.

(Please note: all presentations are scheduled for 11:00 am and are free, unless otherwise noted)
